ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 20 — Carestream Health announced U.S. orders for its KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography system, which enables high-resolution mammography images to be captured digitally using new or existing KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR systems.
MetroSouth Medical Center, Blue Island Ill., integrated the feature onto two CR systems, which together enable the staff to perform 400 mammography exams a month. “Implementation and training went very smoothly and our radiologists report the image quality is excellent. Our staff benefits from this system’s ease of use and we appreciate the streamlined workflow,” said Mike Kudsk, MetroSouth’s Radiology Director.
At The Diagnostic Center of the Carolinas, conversion to digital mammography enabled physicians to provide faster results to its patients. “With the addition of CR-based mammography, our radiologists are able to read mammography examinations in real time and discuss the findings concurrently with the patient,” said Jennings Pressly, MD, the Center’s Radiology Director.

This optional mammography enhancement is available when purchasing a new KODAK DIRECTVIEW Elite, Classic or Max CR System, or as an upgrade to other CR systems from Carestream Health. The company’s mammography feature allows these CR systems to be used for both general radiography and mammography exams.
