DR Software Enhances Quality Control

New DRX-Evolution Features Drive Greater Productivity for Orthopedic Exams

GRAPEVINE, Texas, Aug. 15 — Carestream Health showed new DR software and hardware upgrades that offer important gains in imaging productivity, quality control and the management of system-wide imaging data at the annual meeting of AHRA, the Association for Medical Imaging Management. These new capabilities are available for customer order and will begin shipping this fall.

The company’s latest digital radiography software streamlines dose management and exposure data and contains these key features:

  • A new DR Total Quality Tool (TQT) phantom and software equips technologists with a fast, convenient process to measure image quality in order to verify that all CARESTREAM DR or DRX detectors within a facility are operating within the specified range.
  • Administrative Analysis and Reporting software allows administrators or physicists to monitor the IEC exposure index, TQT data, reject rates, and collect and review other data for all Carestream CR, DR and DRX systems within a healthcare system. This digital imaging dashboard can streamline the management and reporting of imaging equipment performance and exam statistics.
  • The ability to analyze image content and present chest images in the proper orientation can speed productivity, which is particularly important for ICU areas.

The company also introduced  DRX-Evolution  upgrades that include the ability to review and approve images on the system’s overhead tube crane display so technologists can stay at their patient’s side. Automatic supine long-length imaging for the DRX-Evolution suite streamlines imaging for frail patients that need table-based exams. Customers also have the option of selecting a fixed 17 x 17 inch detector for the table as well as the wall stand.

Carestream’s DR software upgrade maintains the same convenient user interface to allow technologists to easily operate Carestream’s DR and wireless DRX systems, as well as its floor-standing DIRECTVIEW CR systems, with very little training. Some software and hardware upgrades are optional.
