Newest Cloud-Based Radiology Services Now Available In United States

Company’s eHealth PACS, eHealth Portal Services Deliver Full Functionality While Reducing Costs

ORLANDO, Feb. 21 — Carestream Health announced U.S. availability for its newest cloud-based eHealth PACS and eHealth Portal Services. The eHealth PACS Service delivers full PACS functionality for image review, storage and distribution throughout the enterprise including delivering advanced reading tools to remote radiologists. The eHealth Portal Service enables healthcare providers that use the company’s eHealth Archive Service for disaster recovery/business continuity to allow access to that data by authorized clinicians anywhere in the world through a simple Internet connection. eHealth PACS, eHealth Portal and eHealth Archive services are members of the company’s family of cloud-based CARESTREAM eHealth Managed Services (eMS).

These cloud-based services provide technology obsolescence protection and reduce costs by up to 30 percent. Healthcare facilities pay a per-study usage charge instead of investing in building, maintaining and upgrading a large internal infrastructure. Carestream Health’s cloud-based services have been adopted globally and the company currently manages over 25 million studies.

“Purchasing radiology capabilities as a service equips multi-site healthcare institutions with disparate PACS, RIS and other clinical systems with an affordable way to enable viewing of patient images and information byauthorized users at all sites,” notes Patrick Koch, Carestream Health’s Worldwide Business Director of eHealth Managed Services. “These services also allow small to mid-size hospitals, imaging centers and physicians to easily share data between the providers involved in a patient’s diagnosis and treatment.”

CARESTREAM eHealth Managed Services offers cloud-based healthcare information technology that is available on a pay-as-you-go basis using a predictable price-per-study structure.
