RSNA 2013: Digital Technology Evolving at Guelph General Hospital in Canada

Mike Sharma, diagnostic imaging director for Guelph General Hospital, took a couple of minutes to speak with us at RSNA about digital radiography, as well as how the power of partnership is influencing new developments at his hospital. The installation of DR products has resulted in several benefits for the organization, including reduced length of stay for patients, increased access to patients,  and improved through-put in patient workflow. Being a Canadian health facility, Guelph General experiences different issues within the radiology community compared to the U.S. Sharma stated that it is currently the team’s responsibility to try and to capture as much funding as possible for capital approval, so that Guelph can get the best value on the tax-payer’s dollar.
